The MultiXscale EuroHPC Centre-of-Excellence, in collaboration with the CernVM-FS development team at CERN, is organizing an online tutorial on the best practices for using CernVM-FS in HPC. The tutorial will take place via Zoom on 4 December 2023, from 13:30 to 17:00 Central European Time. To participate, please register before 1 December 2023.

CernVM-FS, also known as CVMFS, is a file distribution service that is designed to efficiently distribute software installations across a large number of systems worldwide. This tutorial aims to explain what CernVM-FS is, how to access existing CernVM-FS repositories, and provide specific guidance on using CernVM-FS on HPC systems.

The tutorial is designed for individuals who have a background in HPC (e.g. system administrators, support team members, end users) and are new to CernVM-FS. No prior knowledge or experience with CernVM-FS is required.
