EuroCC's national competence center in Sweden (ENCCS) will host a webinar on Quantum-Accelerated Supercomputing for Materials Science on 18 September 2025. The session will present methods that integrate traditional HPC resources with quantum computing accelerators for applications in materials science.
A workflow will be demonstrated for analyzing a materials science problem using hybrid quantum-classical approaches. The presentation will highlight how quantum embedding techniques enable the simulation of sections of atomistic systems using quantum simulators, which can be executed on quantum hardware. Participants will understand how CP2K (classical DFT) integrates with Qiskit-nature (quantum algorithms) through a practical computational materials science workflow.
