The second phase of EuroCC has started, with the project commencing on 1 January 2023. The kick-off meeting took place at the Filderhalle in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, near Stuttgart, from 7 to 9 February 2023. With the start of a new three-year grant, the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has renewed its support of EuroCC and CASTIEL. These projects work together to improve the standard of expertise in high-performance computing, high-performance data analytics, and artificial intelligence in supercomputing centers throughout Europe. They achieve this by implementing various activities that help strengthen Europe's computational research infrastructure, increase industrial competitiveness, and promote technological independence.

NCC Serbia joined the consortium in its second phase on 1 January 2023. It consists of two institutions - the Institute of Physics Belgrade as the beneficiary and the University of Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering as an affiliated entity. Both institutions have a leading position among the scientific institutions in Serbia in the fields of high-performance computing(HPC), high-performance data analytics (HPDA), and artificial intelligence (AI). The institutions have collaborated in the HPC/HPDA/AI field for many years, but the partnership was officially established on 28 September 2022 by signing a Cooperation Memorandum. The primary objectives of this memorandum closely align with the goals of the EuroCC2 project.

NCC Serbia representatives from the Institute of Physics Belgrade, Dr. Marija Mitrović Dankulov and Dr. Dušan Vudragović participated in the kick-off meeting. They had several work meetings with various project partners to facilitate discussions on key project objectives and activities related to competencies, training, industry, and communication.
