The Czech National Competence Center in HPC and IT4Innovation are organizing a workshop on Fundamental Quantum Computing Algorithms and Their Implementation in Qiskit, which will take place online on 18 and 19 March 2025. The course will introduce the fundamental principles of quantum computers and their differences from classical computing. Participants will explore theoretical foundations, mathematical descriptions, and practical testing of quantum circuits - also called quantum computing experiments - using a simulator and, eventually, IBM hardware within the Qiskit environment.
The course will begin with a brief introduction to quantum computers. It will then explain their principles directly through several quantum algorithms, including Bernstein-Vazirani, Deutsch-Jozsa, Simon's, and Grover's algorithms. On the second day, the quantum Fourier transform will be introduced, along with practical examples such as quantum phase estimation and Shor's algorithm.
